We are wrapping up the series I started 4 weeks ago on skills you should show off during your HS Basketball tryouts. In the past episodes we have covered showing off control, communication and hustle. Today we are going to share how to stand out on the defensive end off the floor.

99% of coaches on the planet love defense. All the skills we’ve been talking about to show off and stand out in tryouts are culture building skills. That’s part of the trick in standing out in a tryout, showing the coaches that you are the type of player that can help them build the culture of the team. Defense is one of those culture-building skills, it doesn’t matter what scheme a coach is going to run, we are talking about skills you can show off no matter the scheme or your individual talent level.
