If you’re a High School Basketball player that’s playing on an AAU team this summer, this is my 4th episode in a series that shares the skills that you should be showing off in your summer AAU basketball games. In the last few weeks we talked about showing off your positive energy, control and on ball defense. Today we’re staying on the defensive side of the ball sharing why and how you can show off your help defense.

Help defense is one of those skills that doesn’t get a lot of attention at the AAU level. Let’s face it, not all, but most teams aren’t together long enough to work on the finer points of team defensive schemes. That’s one reason that last week’s episode is so important, because it’s hard to guard someone one on one without a ton of help defense. It’s also why there’s a big opportunity for you to stand out and show off your help defense to all those college coaches in the stands evaluating players. I’m going to share 3 ways you can show off your help defense.
